Mithi Dal (Moong Dal) Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup Yellow Moong Dal (Roasted)
  • Water for boiling and consistency adjustment
  • 1-2 Green chillies (as per taste)
  • ¼ tsp Turmeric powder
  • Salt to taste
  • Tempering:
    • 3-4 Tbsp Ghee/oil
    • 2 slices Onion
    • 1 tsp Ginger garlic paste
  • Garnish:
    • Chopped mint leaves
    • Chopped coriander leaves

Instructions:

  1. Roast yellow moong dal until fragrant.
  2. Wash and pressure cook dal with salt, green chillies, and turmeric powder.
  3. Mash to a smooth consistency and adjust with water(prepared dal should have a runny consistency, view below image for better understanding)
  4. Temper the dal:
    • Heat ghee in a pan.
    • Fry onions until golden brown.
    • Add ginger garlic paste and fry until fragrant.
  5. Garnish with chopped mint and coriander leaves.
  6. Serve hot with Chapatti or Paratha.
